A whole school meeting heard the "you expect your doctor to keep up with new advances in medicine - what are you doing?" speech from our HT. She has trotted this speech out before to "inspire" (or put the fear into) us!
My question was, though, as easy as it is for non teaching management and LA directors of education as well as government execs above them to trot this out, the pressing importance to teachers is course implementation (and still course *making* in many cases) and pupil marking. The welter of Tackling Bureaucracy shinola of the last year has done absolutely nothing to root out the fundamental problem - a barrage of bureaucracy with little to no training to back it and HTs coming close to bullying staff to "keep right". Grim.

Yup, Tackling Bureacrashit failed. We are being asked to do too much volume of work. Worse, we are being asked to do too much work that is largely meaningless.
