Maya Archaeologist, Dr Diane Davies, has created with a group of primary school teachers a unit of work on the Maya, which includes lesson plans, teacher notes, slides, images and videos.

This scheme of work is unique in actually being written by both a specialist on the Maya and primary school teachers who have spent time in the area visiting the ancient cities and spending time with the existing Maya.

It is being made freely available to support educators in teaching this topic in class.

Click here to access and download the free unit of work.

Please share this with other teachers.

Looks really useful and I wish it was around at the beginning of last term when we did the topic. The ball game part is great - we tried to play it in PE. Thank you.

Why thank you! We had hoped to get it out earlier, but you know, teachers are very busy :)
