Hi all, my supply agency have given me two weeks of work in the holidays - tutoring 6 year 5 boys each day. The head wants this to be a huge success, and wants learning to be based on creative, practical ideas rather than textbook work. With a specialism in early years, i have done a lot of practical activities with younger pupils, but have never taught year 5s. I have a few ideas that i want to develop further, building a newspaper tower, viking ships, some investigations and problem solving, creative writing using costume, but i was wondering if anyone else had ideas for pieces of work based on practical activities for year 5 boys, these boys will be year 6 in September, and we are looking to give them the best possible start to the year. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and ill happily share my ideas with anyone else in need.
