Dear All, I am currently considering due to family commitment doing supply job for the flexibility involve. Any advice? I’m a QTS maths teacher with 17 at secondary schools. Never done it before.

They'll bite your hand off. Go onto the supply forum for a sense of the supply world, but you may want to consider private tutoring. A maths teacher could name their price, choose to tutor through the day as you can offer A' level and work days and hours to suit you.

It is an option. What type of supply are you looking for? There is day to day, which can be patchy, or long term, which means a commitment plus having to do all the extra stuff like marking, prep, meetings etc... Plus, unless you are very lucky the rate of pay is significantly less than that of a contracted teacher and the pension (if there is one) is worse as well. As above go into the supply forum and ask in there.
