Superphonic book band levels

Discussion in 'Primary' started by DomTom, Apr 10, 2011.

  1. Does anyone know the equivalent book bands levels for Ruth Miskin's Superphonic range? Someone has lost our Book Band Bible and I can't find relevant info online! We have just bought a mixture on the cheap but they don't correspond to usual levels. Cheers!

  2. Wouldn't you be better to group these reading books according to the level of alphabetic code knowledge required to read them? E.g. If you follow the L&S sets of GPCs, your first "band" of books could be the first 6 sets, and so on...Book Bands takes no account of cummulative decodability and the result is that early readers are given books far too difficult for them to decode.
