Suggestions for Post-IGCSE English program?

Discussion in 'Teaching overseas' started by pennyrichardson, May 12, 2011.

  1. If your school is willing to fund an IELTS class, than that would meet the needs of IGCSE second language students. IELTS is recognised by UK and overseas universities.
I have to say, though, that CIE AS Lang/Lit goes down well with our Y12s.
I would also suggest looking at offering IGCSE first language in Y12, if it is not done at KS4, as it will support English skills for other subjects at A level.
  2. tica: Looking for some sort of program for the kids. Most of them have done their IGCSEs, and just scraped by. I sincerely believe that they would not be able to do anything at the level of AS/A English, or First Language IGCSE. So, I'm fishing for suggestions for a textbook to use with them.
