Feelings run high on these boards as teachers are all under pressure and need a safe place to let off steam. The "Personal" forum has recently redefined its ground rules after contributors took the category title a bit too literally and a trend for unpleasant and derogatory remarks ensued.

We need to be aware that these pages are accessible to anyone and we do ourselves no favours by appearing to be ill-informed, petulant or unprofessional. We have one thing in common; we care about the state of education, hence our presence on the forum.

These pages are moderated so that inappropriate language, personal comments and contributions promoting businesses are removed.

    So:

Allow the moderators to use their judgement as to which comments are admissible or not.
Allow other members the right to speak their mind, even if their view relies on opinion rather than fact.
Correct other users' factual or typographic errors with tact.

    Carry on!
