Suffer from night terrors and going on a residential!

Discussion in 'Health and wellbeing' started by s0700452, May 7, 2011.

  1. I am 23 and have suffered from night terrors for over 2 years. They happen quite regularly, about every other night. When I have them I usually scream really loudly and jump out of bed. It takes a few minutes for me to snap out of it.
My class is going on a residential in a few weeks time for 2 nights. I am not sure what to do. If I have a nightmare I will scare everyone - because it is usually a loud, blood curdling scream. So having two classes of scared children would not be fun to deal with. I would also be highly embarrassed because it makes me feel like a child when I have them.
Should I speak to the head about maybe not staying over, or will she think I am trying to 'get out of it'?
    Please help.
