Struggling to get a DFE number for NQT year - Help needed

Having obtained my PGCE in Adult Education in 2001 I took a career break.

I have returned to secondary education and agreed to complete a NQT year due to teaching Religious Studies as a non specialist. I am struggling to get a DFE number to register as a NQT.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

Do you mean that you have never had one? You weren't issued with one for your PGCE?

Get in touch with the DfE and ask them, for starters, and also your Uni.

Are you paying into the Teacher's Pension scheme - they may have the number too.

    Best wishes

    Hi

No I have never received one so have emailed the DfE. Uni were not very helpful but may try again and yes I am paying into a pension scheme so will follow up this route.

    Thanks for the suggestions

My teachers pension scheme number is also my DfE number. there used to be a website where you could also check teacher's DfE numbers but I'm not sure if this is still going.
