Struggling and not sure if this job is right for me!

  1. It is just the school, sweetie. :) You have had difficult classes which an NQT should not have. Have a chat with your Union and your Uni.

  2. Don't under-estimate how difficult the NQT year can be - you have so much to learn and the workload, even tho you get extra planning time, can be overwhelming. Please give it time - I am now in my first year post NQT and can't believe how much better things are. Lessons are fun again, the workload is high but manageable, and I do have a work life balance now. Last year I was thinking about leaving as I just didn't enjoy teaching any more.
I really hope it works out for you.
