Story mapping initative?

Discussion in 'Primary' started by 07158422, Nov 14, 2011.

  1. Hello, can anyone remember which initative story mapping comes from? As in drawing pictures to sequence a well known story and then using actions to dramatise story?

pie corbett training has it in - with actions for connectives and such.
  3. My understanding is that story mapping involves drawing visual reminders of what happened in a text (if recounting). This can be used to re-tell the story orally or re-write in own words. It can also be used as a way of planning your own story. Boxing up the text is where you pick out key parts of a text and use this as a sort of framework for writing your own version, e.g. In Goldilocks and the Three Bears - a naughty girl goes into the someone else's house etc.
