Story about being different but all being special

Discussion in 'Primary' started by beckycharles, Jun 28, 2011.

  1. Hi there,

Wondering if anyone can help. I'm moving from y6 to y4 in September and I am currently planning a circle time activity for transition day. The circle time will be done as a precursor to a sheet called 'All about me' including things about hobbies, family and friends etc. I was wondering about reading a short story during circle time about everyone being different but everyone being special but having a complete mind blank and can't think of one.
Any ideas? A picture book might be best.

  4. I like using Peter H. Reynolds books. North Star, Ish, Dot etc.
  5. Thanks everyone, I'll have a look at those!
  6. 'Something Else' would be a great book to use.
  7. Might be a bit simple, but "Cleversticks" is a lovely one.
  8. 'But Martin' - it's a picture book about an alien coming to school and the differences in the children he meets, and another picture book I read along time ago but remember enjoying is called 'The same but different' which is about a family and the different things they do in a day or morning :)
