open to 10-20 yr olds, accepting entries until 30th April.

Seeking to link young people’s interest in digital and social media with contemporary science by way of a novel STEM competition. Together with partners we are trying to make as many young people and their teachers aware of this competition for students to produce ‘presentations’ of some type – powerpoints, posters, videos – about a contemporary science topic. We have provided the starting material; 50 topic sheets covering a diverse range of STEM subjects (great teaching resource in their own right)

The competition is open until 30th April 2017, but the sooner students enter the better their chance of making the finals as the first stage of voting relies on audience votes through ‘likes’ and ‘views’ on social media.
There are CASH prizes and an awards ceremony in Vienna. If students have prepared such materials for other competitions they can be included #scichallenge2017, they just need to upload their presentation to either You Tube or Slideshare and set about gathering likes & views.
