Statutory requirement - Proforma ?

My school is doing paired 30min observations (no doubt at huge expense having to buy in cover whilst people are removed from their lessons to do observations...)
Is it a statutory requirement to write a lesson plan ?
My lessons are thoroughly prepared and well executed and the extent of preperation is reflected by the notes that I write for students - but the hassle of writing a proforma that will be solely for the observer to take a 2 second glance at seems pointless... thoughts ???

  2. There is no statutory requirement. There may be a school policy though. However, it may help that the new Ofsted School Inspection Handbook says (Page 10)
