statutory policies help

    Hi

    I’ve recently become a parent governor for my child’s school, I can’t see some of the statutory policies in our shared policy folder, for example there is no teacher appraisal and capability policy document. When I asked about it I got a response telling me all about how we do things, for example who’s responsible for teacher appraisal and when this is done etc, however my understanding is that for these statutory policies we should have a written policy? Is that correct or is having a procedure in place sufficient?
