Starting a new scheme/ subject

Discussion in 'Assessment' started by lyndsayamos, Mar 15, 2014.

  1. Need some help!

I am part of a small group of teachers who have been asked to pilot a new scheme/subject called modern foreign culture. It is for students who have been withdrawn from languages and will therefore have 6 lessons a fortnight based on history/geography of continents rather than learning a language. It is for year 8s and year 9s and the majority of the students have SEN, low ability or week literacy. The schemes have been written year 8 focus on Uk and Europe and in year 9 do the remaining continents.

The problem I am facing is that the scheme is based on the schools 8 learning skills (numeracy, literacy, collaboration, self and peer assessment, research, ICT skills etc). How do we track progress? Show progress? Ensure the subject holds up to OFSTED?

    Any help would be appreciated
