I have been between positions recently and have completed it must be 20 plus applications forms! Wow! they take such a long time... Some were online some were word documents, some were active pdf's and the formatting of all of them was different but nearly all required the roughly the same information. What a huge waste of time it was inputting : • Qualifications • DBS No. • 2 - 3 Reference details • Subject Specialisms • Pay Scale • Currently Employed • Notice Period / Availability • CPD or training • QTS/ QTLS • UK work Eligibility • Employment Experience • SET number • Additional pertinent information... Now of course some information is going to be specific (covered by 'Supporting statement'). How amazing would it be if you could email a simple link to an official database where all that information was completed? I'm sure it would save learning organisations hours too on developing processes to manage the data. Indeed Human resources could even search the database for teacher availability based on their hiring criteria connecting employers and candidates directly and efficiently, just saving applicants and learning organisations 1000's and 1000's of hours nationwide. Now there are some (private )recruitment companies starting to create these databases where schools and colleges can search and indeed i have been contacted via some of these but if it was a Government official site which you had to have official status to register and the nation did it I think job searching and recruitment might be much easier for everyone.
