Sports Injuries GCSE

  1. CPR resus dummy, recovery position, badanges and slings, easy peesy if you can get a dummy and bandages.
     
  2. Working in pairs get students to research the anatomy of a joint and draw it on each other. The knee and ankle are the best as students can draw on the bones and major ligaments. Learning can be checked by then getting them to label a blank diagram of the joints.
     
  3. Aaron Ramsey as a case study, perhaps.
    Bone breaks, ligament. tendon damage, rehab and recovery period then the stepped return to International career.
    Wikipedia has a decent outline and there are plenty of news sites with details of his return.
