    Hi

I have an SLE interview, does anyone have any advice or ideas about the types of activity I might need to prepare for?

    Thank you

Hullo there @jessicajane ! Well done for getting that interview - you have already impressed them. :)

I nearly missed this - tip for anyone in the future, with enquiries about jobs do remember to post on Jobseekers!

Now I have no specific tips for this actual post. But in general, questions will be
    • Based on your application, to see your experience
    • Based on the person specification, to see your skills
    • Based on the Job Description, to see if, and how, you would do the job.
The latter is by far the most important, so you need to do a Mind map based on the JD and use that for an important part of your preparation.

I am going to give you links now to the Professional Advice Hub, where there is loads of advice about interviews. I am including articles that are not directly relevant to you, for the benefit of other posters.

My SLE process consisted of an interview only, although those cohorts before me had to do a presentation and in tray exercise too. There isn't a JD or Person Spec as such and the application form is generic, set by the NCSL. The main focus during my own interview was on my understanding of 'system leadership' and my experience of school2school support. Have lots of examples ready for how you have supported colleagues both within and beyond your own context and the impact that this support has had. Good Luck.
