Specialist education tutor

    Hello does anyone know what a specialist education tutor is? I know it's supporting young people who have s statement of SEN and requires no teaching qualifications

    Any advice would be appreciated

    Should also have said in my LA people who support young people with a statement/EHCP are teaching assistants or learning support assistants.

    Same here Wotton. Although tutor is often used to signify someone who works with 16+ age group.

    Could be working with children out if education.. ie between mainstream and special. .. there is often a gap which is picked up by SEN tutors
