    Hi
I;m just about to finish my NQT as a secondary music teacher. I did however work on supply on and off for a few months as a special school teacher and fell in love with being a special school teacher. I was wondering as a new teacher if I wanted to move towards Special school teaching rather than music teaching can i do that at this point in my career? do i need to do some extra courses? basically i'm asking what is the usual career path for someone going into this area of teaching,

    Thank you

    Stephen

Just apply. Be aware though that at many special schools you will be expected to teach more than just your subject. At the last special school I worked in we had to teach English, Maths, Science and then two or three other subjects such as DT, Geography or History.
