Yesterday I visited a school which is in Special Measures with a view
to applying for a job there. The head was very open and honest about
the issues in the school, and the challenge that working there would
entail. The position available is to teach my preferred age group and
would be a sideways move in terms of salary but a step up in terms of
    responsibility.
The school I currently work at has issues across
the board, with the threat of OFSTED hanging over us too. I had a
horrible year last year and although this year is better, I don't see a
future for myself at the school.
    What should I do?

Thank you everyone for your help and advice. I did get a good feeling after my conversation with the Headteacher. As there are plenty of children and lots of building going on in the area there is no chance the school will be closed and sold off.
I'm still undecided over whether or not I want the position, but as someone pointed out above, there's no harm in applying!
