Seeing as we no longer 'post', we can't be posters. Now that we 'message', are we messagers or messengers?

You just made that up, didn't you? How does the 'bio' part fit?

Hmm, not sure . . it implies distinct personalities and is too open to debate . . .

They retained the word "thread" instead of changing it to "discussion" or whatever the BetaNuTes designers intended. I'd go with poster.

Edit: we POST replies, it says so underneath your reply box. I'm a poster.:D

Messengers carry messages from person to person, thus restricting the number of people who can read them. Posters post messages to be read by anyone.

A poster boy is a man who epitomises or represents a specified quality.

Poster Girl is a 2010 documentary film about an American soldier's experience with post traumatic stress disorder after returning from the Iraq War.

    I trust this clarifies things.

Initiating a thread is also 'posting'.

Once a poster always a poster.

    Maybe we're repliers?

The thread starter is the initiator.

bio : biological properties of brain arising from evolution
psycho : how the brain appears to work to self and others (psychology)
social : to do with interactions with others

Yes I made it up. But it is a good word. We have evolved to live in smallish groups. It is said that the maximum number of people we can have meaningful relationships is 150.

Depends on your definition of 'meaningful'.

I'd put it at 6. Maximum.

I have to say I doubt I could remember 150 names and put them to faces.

You would remember much better if there were only ever 150 people around!
