SMP interact scheme of work

Discussion in 'Mathematics' started by helen.aries, Feb 2, 2011.

  1. I am a new Head of Department and am looking for a scheme of work to make use of our SMP interact text books which are currently being used throughout key stages 3 and 4. If there is a good scheme of work to go with this that would be fantastic.
I am also interested in any other really good schemes of work that I would be able to get my hands on.
I have had a quick look at Exploring Maths. Has anyone got any info on thi? MEP looks good too!
    Thank you

  2. On the SMP website there's a document that maps the Interact books to various exam bodies. HTH.

The best SMP books I've ever seen were in a library from the early 1980's, people really knew how to produce textbooks in those days!

  3. Hi Helen,
I took over management of a department which was using interact and I remember it was a real culture shock to get used to it. It does take a while. It's quite different to other schemes as the topics are more interegrated.
Some of our worksheets were missing and the publishers were very helpful in replacing them, which helped.
I do hope you stick with it and come to love it as much as I did.
    Sorry I don't have a suitable SOW.
