    Hi all,

I have recently become the Art Coordinator in a large school. I am eager to introduce sketch books into key stage 2 as i know it is a requirement but due to numbers i am aware that this is going to come at a cost!! Can anybody recommend any (very) cheap sketch books or suggest any other ways to get around this that you may have done at your school?
    Thank you in advance x

We just buy school sketch books from the same supplier as all of our exercise books.
In a previous school, we purchased nice hard-cover sketchbooks for first years, and they kept them for their 4 years at the school.

We make our own. Use Large pieces of card for the cover then the children add to it with sketches etc use treasury tags to hold it all together. There are good examples of 'homemade'sketch books on the Internet

Look at access art website. New curriculum asks for children to create sketchbooks

    Hi there,
I'm afraid I can't help you with your sketchbook query right now (I'll look in to it!) but I just saw your post and was wondering if you could help me with a question? I have a job interview on Thursday to be the arts coordinator/teacher in a local primary school. I'm really keen but don't have much primary experience. I was wondering if you could share any interview questions that you were asked? Or if there is anything you think is worth asking at interview? I come from a secondary art background so feeling somewhat nervous.
    Many thanks :)

I did the same thing a couple of years back - I found some decent ones with a laminated cover in the TTS catalogue. Think they worked out at around 50p each? Keep them each year and send them up with the kids - this will show progression in art.
