Silly songs that you have in your CD/i-tunes collection

Discussion in 'Personal' started by anon4561, Sep 1, 2011.

  1. Another poster made me think of "Monster Mash" by Bobby 'Boris" Pickett
I've downloaded it from i-tunes to add to some other silly songs that are actually fun
    Star Trekkin' ..... Dr. Demento
A Windmill in Old Amsterdam ....... Ronnie Hilton ([IMG]
I Love the Dead.... Alice Cooper (not for the faint hearted and a remnant from my misspent youth... please don't attack me for it... it IS offensive to some I know)
Hard Day's Night...... Peter Sellers version of the Beatles song.....
And lots by Jake Thackery and Tom Lehrer

Does anyone have any others to share?
  2. Jollity Farm the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band. used to sing it with the kids when they were small - still guaranteed to make me smile

  7. Oh, I'd forgotten about this one! Must check i-tunes!
Thanks MSB for sending links..... computer painfully slow just now, so will have to check out tomorrow, and tell you what I think (I'm sure they're all brilliant!)
And thanks everone for other suggestions, will check out too!
Am just in silly song mode just now....... [IMG]
  8. I have "Monster Mash" on my IPod. I also have;"Can We Fix It?" and "Big Fish Little Fish" by Bob The Builder "London Underground" by the Amateur Transplants. I also have a lot of musical nursery rhymes, too many to list individually!
  9. I too have Lily the Pink - Scaffold and Hard Day's Night - Peter Sellers along with Alexander Beatle by Melanie my first musical memory, and one of only a few happy memories of my father. It was until a couple of years ago that I realised it came from Winnie the Pooh, and then I felt really stupid!
  10. All brilliant. As far as the Bonzo's go, I think 'Beautiful Zelda from Galaxy Four' is my favourite:
and, there's always Napoleon XIV - 'They're Coming To Take Me Away'
plus, The Firm - 'Star Trekkin'

My son plays this to annoy me, but I actually quite like it.
Whalefish - Mr. Scruff - Shanty Town. From the album Keep It Unreal (Ninja Tune, 14 July, 1999)

I love singing silly songs, I only ever remember bits. I often sing 'They're coming to take me away' One day they will!
I loved Captain Beaky, They should bring it out again. Remember Teddy - it's always teatime for him?

My silly songs were Britney - Oops I did it again, and Busted - That's what I go to school for.
Now I have trumped those both with A Mouse Lived in a Windmill thanks to this thread [IMG]
  15. Thanks everyone! That's reminded me of a few I'd forgotten about and since I still have a few dollars left on my i-tunes..........

John Dowie's 'Another Close Shave' EP seemed very silly and funny at the time of its release during the Punk era, but I was a student then, so some allowances have to be made ;-)
  20. They're coming to take me away - Napoleon XIV
Bonkers but always makes me smile.
Annie, get the dug to listen to it!!
