signs of an eating disorder

Discussion in 'Health and wellbeing' started by missrain, Mar 15, 2012.

  1. Just worried about a collegue and looking for signs that there is a problem. Is not eating in front of people associaated. Have notices little things like she never has chocolates, biscuts, sweets offered around, nor come in staffroom at lunchtime and has always 'eaten.'

  2. Is she underweight? She may simply be strong willed, why should anyone have to eat the chocolates, biscuits and sweets that seem to be in staff rooms every day?

I see from another thread of yours that you are worried about your own weight gain.
Take care - and remember that chocolates and sweets no more necessary to the female psyche than loving pink or aspiring to Christian Louboutin shoes. Going to the gym is not compulsory, either.
    All the best

Cutting up food into small pieces. Moving food around on the plate. Choosing food with no or little fat. I have seen someone eat a whole plate of runner beans.. I had a daughter with Anorexia, it is not about food. Please PM me if I can help.

My daughter asked for help in the end which was great. She went into a specialist hospital who were brilliant. She is now well and about to finish her psychology degree. The hospital discovered that she had a social phobia, once they started to tackle that she improved.it was a very long journey, but she got there.
