My school go off the Burgundy Book with regards to sickness entitlements and pay, I’m just wondering where it says ‘first year of service’ does that mean first year of service as a teacher or first year of service working in that particular school?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

First year (which is April-March) working in an LA school. And you only need to work for part of that school. If you have worked during four sick pay years, then you are up to the maximum 100 days full pay, 100 days half pay. And it does not need to be continuous service. 2.1 in the Burgundy Book ends with "For the purpose of the sick pay scheme, “service” includes all aggregated teaching service with one or more local education authorities."
