I'm an NQT and started a maternity cover in January. Been off sick for the last 3 weeks and I have no idea when I'll be fit to return to work. Due to only being employed by the school since January, I'm only entitled to 5 weeks paid sick leave. So what will happen in another 2 weeks time? I'm not suggesting for one second that I should still get paid, I accept that I will on get 5 weeks paid sick leave, but will I just stop getting a monthly salary? Will I just be classed as being off sick, but without pay? Am I entitled to Statutory Sick Pay?
