Should a Headteacher tell SLT he has advertised a post?

    Just wondered what the etiquette was, as ours hasn't.She hasn't even told the DHT.
    Also - a close personal friend of hers is applying for the post. HT (going on recent history) and a close Governor friend (with no experience of teaching or working in schhols) are the only ones involved in shortlisting. The close personal friend of our HT is also married to a member of SLT.
    It all seems a bit...wrong...to me.

    Oh yes - I remember reading that thread when Middlemarch started it. Thanks for reminding me.
