Shortlisting

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by kbristol, Feb 10, 2011.

  1. Hi,
I know this is a bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question but would still like some opinions. I applied for what would be my ideal job, right location, lovely school (independent) etc and the deadline was this Monday, interviews are next Thursday but I still haven't heard anything. In my heart I probably know that I won't get shortlisted but...
    1. How long does it normally take schools to shortlist?
    2. Is it acceptable to e-mail the school to ask if they have shortlisted yet, or is this a bit pushy?
    Thanks

If deadline was Monday and interviews are Thursday they will probably let people know by the weekend at the latest . . . so Saturday's post would be the last chance, I guess.
I'm sorry if you are disappointed here. Are you sure that you are following all my advice carefully? In today's competitive market, it does pay dividends to ensure that your application is as good as it possibly can be.
    Best wishes
