Shortlisting - the wait

    Applied for a teaching post, the closing date was last weds the 16th. Still not heard anything, shall I presume I have not been shortlisted? Is it appropriate to email the school and enquire or best not to?! Getting desperate for news!

    Yes, I’m afraid I would assume you haven’t been shortlisted. Although it’s terribly tempting to contact the school, it’s best not to. Be patient. If you haven’t been shortlisted it’s likely that you will not hear from the school again. I don’t think that’s the way to treat people who have gone to all the trouble of putting in an application, but I suspect that is what will happen. Time to move on and keep your eyes peeled for the next opportunity. Good luck!
