short course/full course RE

  1. Hey all
Could anyone tell me what the difference is between short course and full course Religious studies?

    Thanks

Short course tends to be done in a year and is equivalent to 1/2 a GCSE. Full course tends to be done over 2 years and is worth a full GCSE. It means that doing EDEXCEL my short course do one module and my full course do 2.

Short course can also be done over two years, with those who are not wishing to opt for RE GCSE but have an RE lesson each week (which is compulsory by law.) This gives them a clear syllabus to follow and exam to aim for.
