Hello all. I'm sending this message from the SHINE Trust. We are an educational charity that funds and develops educational programmes to help disadvantaged children and teenagers fulfill their academic potential. These programmes include lessons after school, complementary classes on Saturdays and literacy, numeracy and study support sessions. We have two funding opportunities running at the moment aimed at teachers. One is open for teachers based in London and the other is aimed at teachers throughout England (inc. London). The details and links are below and should tell you all you need to know about each opportunity. Let Teachers SHINE Webpage: http://www.shinetrust.org.uk/what-we-fund/let-teachers-shine/ Do you know a teacher with an innovative idea to raise attainment? If so, they could win £15,000. Let Teachers SHINE is a national competition for teachers with innovative ideas to improve the literacy, numeracy or science attainment of disadvantaged students. Teachers can apply for up to £15,000 to help set up a project in their school. More information and application forms are available here. Deadline for entries is Sunday 17th April. The proposals can be entirely new, or build upon work a teacher has already begun testing in the classroom. Any qualified teacher working in England with students aged up to 18 can apply. The competition is being run by the educational charity SHINE and TES with support from Capita SIMS. 2. The London Teachers Innovation Fund Webpage: http://www.shinetrust.org.uk/what-we-fund/ltif2016/ Calling all London teachers – Win £10,000 to improve and share your subject knowledge The London Teachers Innovation Fund is open to any London teachers to apply for up to £10,000 to work with subject experts from universities, business and subject associations to create teaching strategies and resources to raise the attainment and accelerate the progress of their students. The aims of the Fund are: • Improve the subject knowledge and pedagogy of teachers • Improve students attainment and progress • Make available more resources and tools for teachers to use in the classroom.
