  1. A warning to anyone who has accepted a position at a school in Shanghai for a January start.

Don't do it!! You are dealing with corrupt management and the school is on the verge of being shut down.

You will have been lied to at interview about getting a work visa. The School has been blacklisted by the Chinese authorities and the majority of teachers will not get the legal work visa. Many staff are leaving at Christmas.

Your pay will also be late and the rent for your apartment will not paid on time.

Despite the financial difficulties, the Head recently treated herself to a week at a top London hotel at a cost of about £250 a night to recruit young, naive and easy to manipulate teachers who will hopefully turn a blind eye to the corruption and not ask any questions.

If you value your career and sanity, look elsewhere and also read the other warnings on this forum
