    And this is supposed to be some earth shattering piece of news? Just as the removal of grammar schools removed social mobility for working class kids it also saw the demise of so many girls' grammar schools much to the detriment of girls' education. I was lucky enough to go to one and I can tell you the question of aspiration and equality didn't arise because it didn't need to!
    I really cannot justify, or see how anyone can try to, the practice of seating classes in boy/girl, boy/girl combinations to help a teacher's classroom management.
