Is it really true that I won't be able to apply for teaching positions advertised after this time because I have a permanent contract :-( ?

If by this question you mean is it too late to hand your resignation in for a job to start in Sept., then yes.

Last date for staff in maintained schools in England and Wales to hand in their resignatiion was 31 May.
So unless you have resigned by then, you have to remain in your current school until 1 January.
    Good luck

I do Application and Interview one-to-ones, and also contribute to the Job Application Workshops. We look at application letters, executive summaries and interviews, with practical exercises that people really appreciate.
