Secondary Music Help please..........

Discussion in 'Secondary' started by Woodflute, May 29, 2011.

  1. Hi everyone.
For a number of years I have been teaching primary music. I have now been told that due to re structuring I will become a scondary music teacher , teaching music to years 7 8 9 and GCSE 10 and 11 .
I guess I have a lot of work to do over the summer. Can any one give me a help with lessons plans year plans or term plans.
Have any other teachers had experience of being moved up or down from primary to secondary teaching. My school is a complete school in the sense that we have students from foundation up to year 11 so I will be in the same school but just in different part of the school. The school is a growing school so each year we add on a year at the top and from September we will be a full primary and secondary school hence the need for a secondary music specialist teacher.

I hope you all have a well deserved rest in the holidays.
  2. I suggest you post on the music forum, for more advice.

In the meantime, get in touch with your county advisor or the head of your music service (if you still have either of them!) - I'm sure they could suggest some local teachers who could offer support.

It sounds like a big change; good luck!
