SCITT 2010

Discussion in 'Thinking of teaching' started by warda2009, May 28, 2011.

  1. Hi,

I am a graduate and working voluntary
in a Primary School at the moment to get some experience as I want to be a
teacher and want to apply in coming September.

    I intend to apply for
FIPC, Essex, London (SCITT course). Does anybody has some idea about the
procedure and help how I should proceed.

Secondly, can I apply for SCITT,
PGCE and GTP at the same time
What is actual route if I apply for SCITT? Is it through GTTR like PGCE?

    Thanks,

  3. Hi,
You can apply for SCITT courses via the Graduate Teacher Training Registry (GTTR) website at:
    www.gttr.ac.uk
At the above website you will be able to find contact details about SCITT courses in your area, as well as other information about the way in which the course are structured.
You can apply for as many GTPs as you like, although obviously there will be certain geographical limitations to consider. GTP applications do not go through the GTTR as you would apply to the course provider directly. For information about how to apply for a GTP course please visit the following page of the TDA website:
    www.tda.gov.uk/get-into-teaching/teacher-training-options/gtp/how-to-apply.aspx
As you are interested in teaching at primary level you will be able to apply for two courses through the GTTR. This could be two SCITT courses, two PGCE courses, or one SCITT and one PGCE course. You can apply for two courses via the GTTR, as well as any number of GTPs.
I hope that this information has helped, and I wish you the very best in your teaching career.
    Stephen Hillier, TDA
