    Hello,

At the University of Sheffield, as we've just launched a new film to highlight photosynthesis as one way to achieve higher yields from plants in order to sustain a growing population.

You can watch the film on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/uCj4Gq0J5lw

In the film, we follow Dr Matt Johnson and his PhD student as he lets us into a secret that photosynthesis is hopelessly inefficient. He then runs through the ways that we can help plants to become more efficient in order to meet the demands of a growing population - by redesigning photosynthesis.

I wanted to share this here in case this could be a useful learning resource for Biology teachers.

If you find this useful and would like to share it further - please feel free to make use of this tweet:

    Thanks,

Apologies - this link strangely works if you copy and past it but not if you click it directly. Here is the video 'Redesigning photosynthesis':

    Thanks,
