    Hi all,

Do you follow the new(ish) national curriculum scheme for Science? When the new objectives came out, we felt that they weren't challenging or interesting enough (to an extent), so have kept to our original schemes. I'm ks1. For example, Forces was taken out completely from Ks1 and moved to ks2. We still cover it.

Just interested to find out what other indies do? Have you bought in a scheme? We're looking for a lot more investigation and practical work.

We don't have a scheme and science is taught be specialists from year 3.
KS1 and EYFS fit science into their topics and do lots of practical and investigative work.

Covering the NC in KS1 is achievable for parents if they just take their child here and there, watch intelligent television and spend time talking and playing with their child.
