Science Apps for ipads

Discussion in 'Science' started by fuzzy73, Aug 28, 2012.

  1. Hi all

    My school has
brought some ipads to use with the students and would like some science app to
go on them. I don't have an ipad or any other tablet so would like your help in
finding some useful ones for the students.

    Thanks in advance
    for your recommendations.

i have found at my school the people in charge of buying apps and downloading or even just downloading free apps are inexperienced and therefore very slow at doing this

You can use HTML5 pages on the iPad, though there aren't many around at the moment. There is this:

Virtual Human Body is good for anatomy, but as with many apps, once you have to install it on a lot of iPads, can get quite expensive.

This is an American page but does have links to quite a lot of resources.

And we have just launched Educake for GCSE Science, which works with iPads - online tests for homework or revision. Students type in the answers and get instant feedback, and teachers get progress tracking and analysis. We've got a 30 day free trial at the moment if you want to try it.
