Two updates on this awful story:

Dulwich stabbing: He should have been safe, say family of boy knifed at school

'“I just can’t understand how that can happen in a school building. It should be somewhere where children are safe. Something needs to be done to stop this happening.”'

Boy, 15, left critical after stabbing outside primary school in which knife 'went right through his body'

'A schoolboy was “speared” in a knife attack in front of terrified young children outside a London primary school.

The 15-year-old victim was left fighting for life after being stabbed twice with “very large knives”. One blade penetrated his body and came out the other side in the suspected gangland ambush.

The horrific attack was witnessed by children as young as four leaving St Mary’s Roman Catholic School in Clapham at the end of the school day. The victim was not a pupil at the school.

    The horror continues.

This hasn't been brought to the attention of the press since the head has lied to staff - but a boy brought a knife into a school I work at with the intention of using it on a boy from a neighbouring school. Someone grassed the boy up, he was searched and a surgeon's scalpel with blades was taken off him. Another potential stabbing thwarted - but the boy got isolation for a day only, and it was covered up by the head until a member of staff did some digging and exposed it.

    Update:

It seems that things might not be done right in Scotland after all:

Teenager caught with knife could return to north-east school after threatening to stab teacher

'A teenager who was excluded from a north-east school for threatening to stab one of his teachers could be back in the classroom within weeks.

The 13-year-old was barred from Mackie Academy after being caught with a knife and later charged by police for acting in a threatening and abusive manner.

But it understood talks are now being held aimed at paving the way for the youngster to return to lessons at the Stonehaven secondary.

    [...]

source said last night: “He is coming back after Christmas. He is coming back in for a phased return. In general, the staff aren’t happy.

“The staff have been told it is confidential. I know other agencies were involved, such as social work. I think he has had private tuition since it happened.

“The teacher he threatened is still there. Although he is entitled to education, it is important that the parents know.”

Insane. This boy is not only a danger to the staff at this school but to also to its students.

Despite the decision of head John Wilson (left), it was overturned by governors, headed by Deborah Sacks

Teachers in uproar as 13-year-old boy is allowed back into school after being caught with a knife hidden in a hollowed-out book

'Teachers in a Norfolk village have been left furious by decision to allow a boy to stay on after he brought a knife into school.

The pupil - understood to be 13 - was excluded from Long Stratton High School south of Norwich after allegedly bringing the blade in, hidden inside a hollowed-out book.

But the move was overruled by the school's governors, prompting anger among teachers, who are now considering industrial action.

Teenager jailed for killing of schoolboy Bailey Gwynne

Boy, who cannot be named, sentenced to nine years in prison after fatal stabbing at Cults Academy in Aberdeen

'The high court jury, which took less than two hours to reach a majority verdict, heard testimony from four teenage witnesses who described how a disagreement over a biscuit swiftly escalated into a physical confrontation that resulted in Bailey being fatally stabbed.

Bailey died from a wound that penetrated 3.5cm-4cm between his ribs and into the left ventricle of his heart, causing immediate and catastrophic blood loss.

The killer was also found guilty of two other charges: possession of knives or “bladed instruments” and possession of two knuckledusters at a school “without reasonable excuse or lawful authority”. These two offences were alleged to have occurred on various occasions between 1 August 2013 and the day of the killing.
