    No.
Many Primary schools expect you to visit, but say so in their details. Did this school say so, but you decided you couldn't afford the time to visit before applying?
It is unusual for them to phone and invite.
So, yes, consider this a pre-interview interview!
Do a search on here for "visit". You'll find tips for what questions to ask, etc. And read the Interview clickables inside the Welcome thread for general preparation.
    Best of luck

The TES Careers Advice service runs seminars and workshops, one-to-one careers and applications advice, one-to-one interview coaching and an application review service.
I do Application and Interview one-to-ones, and also contribute to the Job Application Workshops. We look at application letters, executive summaries and interviews.
The next Workshop I'm doing that still has vacancies is on Friday 25th February. There is also a specialist Workshop for applications to SLT on Saturday February 19th.
Go to https://www.tes.co.uk/article.aspx?storyCode=6060678 for more details of these and other seminars.
    Look forward to seeing you!

  2. Thanks for the reply Theo. No, they didn't specify that you should visit the school before applying so I will take it to be a pre-interview interview!
