Hi, Just been told by a member of staff that OFSTED recommend that school libraries have to be filled with books that are no more than 15 years old. They can be first published before this date but must be reprinted within the last 15 years. Is this true because I can't find any papers from OFSTED that state this fact. We have just had to empty our library of thousands of books and, I have to say, it's broken my heart to see information books that are still relevant today being effectively thrown away, only to be bought again!!!!! Surely schools need money to spend on more urgent things than this.
