School kept my resources - but I didn't get shortlisted to final interview

Yep, my lesson was so good they kept a copy of the resources but I got to home after lunch because I wasn't good enough to interview - am really hacked off.
At lunch I noticed I was a set of resources down and asked to go back to the classroom to collect them and was told that they'd kept hold of a set. Thought this was a bit odd - why not ask for a copy rather than just take one, thought this meant I was through to the shortlisted final interview, but no.
After being told I didn't make the grade I did ask for that set back and was told 'OK, we'll just go and photocopy it first' told them they could keep it - they didn't seem to get why I was unhappy about it.
Am I wrong to be miffed at this, or should I be flattered?

Flattered that they thought it was worthwhile, and miffed that they took them without your permission.
    Bit of a cheek, really.
They are your intellectual property, so they shouldn't have done that.
Sorry you've been disappointed, although it was good to get shortlisted.
    Best wishes
