    Hi everyone,

I am after some advice please on school dog insurance. I am introducing my puppy into our school community from September (after months of very careful research and planning), but the only thing I am finding tricky is finding insurance that will cover the dog in school. Most ‘normal’ providers won’t cover this and the specialist ones that do are very expensive and don’t cover the basics (the dog’s health, vets bills etc).

To anyone who has a school dog or knows of one, I’d be very grateful if they could let me know who they have insurance with?

    Many thanks!

Generally you will need to get your puppy passed by Canine Concern or Pets as Therapy, then the schools are happy to accept them and they are automatically covered by the above's insurance. I can not take mine in unless they are. I know a HT who had to do this to take her's in and that is how I cover the insurance to take mine in. You need to read the small print for both to find the one that suits you best - ie stipulations regarding dog on lead, only one dog etc etc. Let me know if you need more help as I have dealt with both companies.

Maybe there s very good reason why won't insure you....

My son, who was bitten by a dog, would not have had his education improved by the safe, dog-free school premises having a dog in them.
