Scaling - Observation lesson

Discussion in 'Primary' started by traine3, Mar 5, 2012.

  1. Hi all,
I have a lesson being observed this week (Maths). Following on from work on ratio, it is based on scaling recipes. I am trying to think of ways to make the lesson more exciting than the standard worksheet based activity. Has anyone got any ideas? I am cooking with the children the following day, but would like some visual activity during the observed lesson as well.
If anyone has any ideas, they will be greatly appreciated!
  2. Could you have some practical stuff like mixing up squash (link to capacity - they could measure the squash and the water using jugs), mixing paints - not so much measuring but fun trying to make purples, greens and oranges with different quantities of the primary colours. How old are they? !
