Sausage debate

Discussion in 'Personal' started by regencyrob, May 22, 2011.

  1. Sunday fry up this morning created an intense debate
To cook the sausages I put them in a hot frying pan then lower the heat to minimum and allow them to sizzle for about 25 mins turning regularly.
My breakfast partner today always grills and she said her mum puts them in the oven! How do you do yours??
  2. Grill, always.
  3. On a Sunday morning I quite like to hide mine.
  4. Bauble I did that before breakfast
  5. Lol. good man. :¬))
  6. Oven, 'tis the only civilised way.

    cyolba, accept no substitue :)

Oven is good, but the bacon has to be grilled.
And therein lies the problem. Stupid grill is integral to the oven. Bah!
    So, grilled sausage it is.

  8. An oven sucks all the moisture out of the sausage doesn't it?
  9. Not if it's an Aga. Not sure about normal ones. I find mine very juicy and lovely out of the Aga, but I also ensure I buy good sausages in the first place.

The quality of the sausage is indeed the key factor.
    The meatier the better IMO.
  11. A nice thick meaty sausage none of those skinny chipolatas
No flavoured sausages for me just a good Cumberland

  13. Definitley in the oven.
OMG now starting to fancy toad in the hole for dinner. With chunks of red onion and herbs in the batter too....ahhhh I am now drooling!

  14. Can I come for tea? I will bring wine!
  15. Bacon has to be grilled and sausages and eggs have to be fried...its the law.
  16. OK but a good red please.
I am off to make some cookies and cup cakes in a bit so we can share those for "afters" if you like.
Are you partial to lemon cup cakes and chocolate chip/peanut butter cookies?

  17. OK looking at the wine rack - maybe the malbec with the main and a pinot noir to go with dessert!
  18. I thought this was going to be a thread about Bryan Miggs and Imogen Thomas, a nasty piece of work and grubby little tart who both make embarrassed to be Welsh.
  19. See you at 6 then?
