    Hi All,
Wondering what concrete resources and pictorial resources year 2 teachers are using in their class.
I have in mind that the KS1 SATs only allow pencil and NO apparatus.
I have focused on using base 10/dienes, beaded number lines, empty number lines and stayed well away from the 100 square (as though it were some evil resource).
Do you think this is an over reaction on my part? Is there still a place for it in some lessons?
Thanks for any advice you may have.

We use base 10. On the teacher assessment grids it allows them to use apparatus but the test won't! So confusing! This week we have been getting them to draw their base 10 so that they can hopefully draw in the test!
